A bit of Sardinia in the Vatican on the occasion of Palm Sunday. Olive twigs provided by the national Association of Oil Cities, of which some island municipalities are members, including Alghero, were distributed at the celebration.

Also present for the occasion was the councilor for Economic Development, Giorgia Vaccaro.

«Together with the other Municipalities that have joined the Cities of Oil at a regional level, we joyfully welcomed the proposal to donate, thanks to the Sardinian farmers, 100 thousand olive twigs which were distributed to the faithful in St. Peter's Square for the usual blessing of Pope Francis. I had the honor of participating with colleagues from the Cities of Oil in the mass in the churchyard of St. Peter officiated by the Pontiff and of bringing Sardinia with them to the Vatican" states the Alghero councilor.
