Another dark day for travellers , with flights at risk due to a four-hour strike by ENAV air traffic controllers , which will particularly affect the control centres in Rome, Milan and Naples.

The Uiltrasporti, Ugl-Ta, Astra, and Fast-Confsal-Av unions have announced a strike from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM , primarily to demand greater contractual protections regarding workloads.

Also crossing their arms are the staff of Techno Sky, an Enav subsidiary that manages and maintains the technological systems associated with flight assistance services, and those of Adr Security at Rome Fiumicino.

As established by Italian regulations and ENAC guidelines, even during a strike, some connections must be maintained to protect the right to mobility. Therefore, flights will always operate during the guaranteed time slots, i.e., from 7:00 am to 10:00 am and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, as will medical, emergency, and organ transport flights, territorial continuity connections to the islands, and one-off flights throughout the day.

In the event of cancellation or delay, passengers are entitled to a refund or re-routing on an alternative flight and assistance at the airport.
