105 tons of durum wheat seized by the Finance Police in various Italian regions as part of an operation against agri-food piracy.

The Fiamme Gialle collaborated with Sicasov, the agricultural cooperative of breeders set up to verify compliance with the obligations regarding the production and marketing of certified varieties of durum wheat.

After the reports, the blitz was launched which revealed several illicit hypotheses. These include the use of seeds without the required certification, the sale of wheat of the protected varieties "Antalis", "Marco Aurelio", "Athoris", "Avispa", "LG Anubis" and "Tirex" without having fulfilled the related obligations , the mixing of wheat with other of different varieties.

The Economic and Financial Police Units went into action in Bari, Potenza, Palermo, Caltanissetta and Agrigento.
