A corpse in the woods, the macabre discovery of a hiker

Macabre discovery in the woods of Trentino.

A body in an advanced state of decomposition was recovered above the town of Avio. The presence of the remains was reported by a hiker who was under the Corno della Paura, on Mount Vignola.

The operations were carried out by the Carabinieri of Rovereto and by the speleo-alpine-river unit of the fire brigade.

The victim had no documents with him, the death could have occurred a few months ago. The first hypotheses suggest that the man died as a result of the injuries sustained after falling off a cliff.
