A 17-year-old dies in an SUV-scooter collision: the hit-and-run driver was arrested hours later after fleeing on foot.
Gabriele Martini, who was riding a scooter, lost his life after crashing into a car that was making a U-turn.

During extraordinary checks in Forte dei Marmi (Lucca) this afternoon, the alleged perpetrator of the accident that killed 17-year-old Gabriele Martini last night was arrested. The State Police announced this.
The young man, who was riding a scooter with a friend on the seaside road bordering Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi in Versilia, was involved in a collision with an SUV with Swiss plates, which had apparently made a U-turn. The occupants of the SUV, reportedly three, then fled on foot. One has been located.
The 17-year-old's body was taken to the morgue of the Versilia Hospital in Lido di Camaiore (Lucca), at the disposal of the Lucca prosecutor's office.
