« Russia has already lost nearly 99,000 of its soldiers in the Ukraine . Another day and it will be 100,000 losses for the occupiers. Because? Nobody in Moscow has an answer. They wage war and waste people's lives - other people's lives, not their loved ones, not their own lives, but others - and only because some group in the Kremlin cannot admit mistakes and is terribly afraid of reality. But the reality speaks for itself." This was stated by Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky, on the eve of the 300th day of conflict.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin , on a visit to Minsk , allegedly put pressure on Belarusian president Lukashenko to obtain the sending of troops to Ukraine, in support of Moscow's armed forces.
The two leaders had a two-hour talk, but the number one in the Kremlin ( who denies having asked the ally for a war commitment ) would not have obtained the assent of Lukashenko, who is against a direct intervention by Belarus in the arena Ukrainian.
For the time being, Belarus has agreed to continue joint exercises with Moscow's troops, and to deploy some batteries of S-400 Iskander missiles delivered by Russia on its territory.
But the US, through US State Department spokesman Ned Price, has already warned: "If Belarus engages directly in the conflict, we will respond adequately ".
