A fight in the cockpit between a Russian pilot and his Ukrainian co-pilot sparked fear on the Dubai-Tel Aviv flight.

A violent cockpit argument between the Russian-born pilot and the Ukrainian co-pilot led to the emergency that affected a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

According to the reconstruction, the altercation between the two, which began after takeoff, quickly degenerated into a physical fight, with one of the two contenders even losing consciousness.

When the emergency was announced, there were speculations that it might be a hijacking, so much so that Israeli fighter jets were even scrambled to escort the plane. Authorities later announced that "it was not a security incident," ruling out a hijacking. After landing—with the flight directed to Saudi Arabia—the real cause of the emergency on board emerged.
