An 11-year-old boy was pulled alive from the rubble in Caraballeda, northern Venezuela, three days after the catastrophic earthquakes that devastated the region. The announcement was made by the country's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez. "A few minutes ago, an 11-year-old boy was pulled alive from Caraballeda. Right now, every life is a source of hope for Venezuela," Rodriguez wrote on X, attaching a video of the boy's rescue to her message.

Bare-handed digging continues to save lives and locate the missing. The earthquake has currently claimed 1,430 confirmed victims, 3,238 injured, and tens of thousands missing. There have been 432 aftershocks, while the army has militarized the state of La Guaira, the hardest-hit area. All access points are being patrolled by hundreds of men, after the uncontrolled influx of private vehicles carrying humanitarian aid paralyzed traffic on Friday, hindering the arrival of heavy machinery needed to clear the rubble.

Four dead, four injured and about forty missing among the Italian-Venezuelans.
