A Russian tanker was blown up overnight by Ukraine.

The incident took place in the disputed city of Kerch, near the Crimean bridge, and effectively blocked traffic for three hours along the only bridge connecting Russia to the Crimea, used by Moscow to transport material to the military on the Ukrainian front.

The tanker detonated is the Sig, used for the transport of chemicals and subject to American sanctions for having supplied fuel to the Russian forces rushed to aid the regime of Bashar al-Assad during the war in Syria.

The explosion, reports Rbc-Ukraine, "was a special operation by the Ukrainian military services and the Navy", specifying that it was caused by a surface drone with 450 kilos of TNT.

The tanker was loaded with fuel, "the engine room was damaged, although not much," Moscow said, adding that the ship's crew is safe. Some members were slightly injured by shards of glass.
