Olena Zelenska, the Ukrainian first lady, also spoke on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York and launched an appeal to bring back to her homeland the Ukrainian children who by force, to be indoctrinated and deprived of their national identity, they were brought to Russia.

Zelenska explained that more than 19,000 children have been transferred and so far only 386 have been brought back. In Russia, «they have been told that their parents don't need them, that their country doesn't need them, that no one is waiting for them,” Zelenska said.

According to Ukraine's first lady, more than 500 children have been killed since Russia invaded her country more than a year and a half ago, and hundreds of others have been maimed or injured. Ukrainian authorities are also investigating more than 230 cases of sexual violence by Russian soldiers against civilians, including 13 children. Among the victims, he added, there are 12 girls and one boy, and the youngest was only four years old at the time of the crime.

“I appeal to the UN Secretary General and the entire organization to help us save Ukrainian children,” Zelenska pleaded.
