The third day of searches has begun as part of the investigation by Britain's Thames Valley Police, which led to the sensational detention, for nearly 12 hours , and subsequent release, of the former Prince Andrew, younger brother of King Charles III and third son of the late Queen Elizabeth II . Andrew Mountbatten Windsor remains under investigation for suspected misconduct in public office, stemming from classified information obtained during his time as the British government's trade emissary to Asia and shared—potentially for profit—with American pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein . The investigation was also marked today by searches and seizures inside the Royal Lodge , the imposing residence of over 30 rooms adjacent to Windsor Castle where Andrew lived for years.

As part of the investigation—and alleged seizure of documents—which, according to the media, are aimed at gathering further evidence beyond that revealed by the publication in the US of the so-called Epstein files , British investigations into the relationship between the former Duke of York and the American fixer are continuing at a preliminary stage, including the dossier of young women, some minors, in Epstein's circle, who were once made available to rich and powerful friends around the world. Through private flights operated by his infamous Lolita Express , which—between the early 1990s and 2018— reportedly brought over 80 girls to the UK alone .

Models and escorts were received by various figures , including Andrew himself, according to the Epstein files: in some cases, even at Buckingham Palace, where the former prince had a personal office during the reign of his mother, Elizabeth. In this regard, a specific investigation—one of nine currently underway into the British implications of the Epstein affair—has been launched by Scotland Yard, which today, for the second day in a row, questioned former and current Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) officers, the police unit responsible for protecting against crime, suspected of turning a blind eye to Andrew's private visits to various royal properties, in apparent violation of established surveillance and reporting procedures.
