Four children died in India after eating wrapped candy collected on the street outside their homes in the village of Sensai, Uttar Pradesh.

The children, under the age of seven, felt ill immediately. Three of them lost consciousness, the fourth was able to tell their parents what happened.

"We suspect that some criminal voluntarily left the poisoned candy on the street. We are examining the paper that wrapped them, we will leave no stone unturned to find the culprits," said Police Superintendent Ritesh Kumar Singh.
