The remains of the Titan, the submarine that imploded in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean while trying to reach the wreck of the Titanic, were recovered, brought back to the surface and brought to Canada .

This morning, huge chunks of metal were unloaded from the Horizon Arctic vessel at the dock in St. John's, where the Canadian Coast Guard offices are located.

The debris was covered with tarps and then lifted by cranes onto trucks that took it away to be handed over to investigators, who will have it analyzed to figure out what went wrong . The incident is being investigated by the Transportation Safety Commissions of the United States and Canada, the US Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

"The objective - said Jason Neubauer who coordinates the investigation - is to prevent other similar events by formulating recommendations to improve safety ".

Ten days ago the Titan disappeared in the Atlantic: on board there were five passengers, 19-year-old Suleman Dawood and his father Shahzada, the CEO of OceanGate Stockton Rush, Hamish Harding and Paul-Henri Nargeolet. All died following a "catastrophic implosion" .
