«The weapons must stop, they will never bring peace, and the conflict must not spread. Enough, enough brothers, enough." These are the words of the appeal launched today by the Pope at the Angelus on the war in the Middle East.

"The wounded in Gaza must be helped immediately", continued the Pontiff, "civilians must be protected, much more humanitarian aid must be sent to that exhausted population, the hostages must be freed, among whom there are many elderly people and children".

Francis continued: "Every human being, whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, of any people or religion, every human being is sacred, precious in the eyes of God, has the right to live in peace."
