A teenager died in a shooting outside a high school in Des Moines, Iowa. Two other students are hospitalized, seriously injured. The people affected by the shots are two boys and a girl, fire department spokesman Ahman Douglass said.

At least eleven shots were fired by a passing car in front of East High School, which was placed in lockdown with local residents invited to stay in their homes.

Police investigate motive and dynamics. Some people have been stopped as "suspects", other is not leaked by the police.

Kaylie Shannon, a high school student, said she was in a friend's car when she heard "11 shots and students screaming".
