Shooting in a church in Alabama, two dead and one wounded
The attacker was stopped: he entered the church and opened fire
At least two killed and one wounded in a shooting at the Saint Stephen Episcopal church in Vestalia Hill, Alabama . This was reported by some local media.
The attacker, the police said, is in the custody of the authorities and there are no further threats in the area.
"Three people in the episcopal church of Santo Stefano were hit by bullets," the police of Vestavia Hills said on their Facebook page. The shooting took place in front of the church shortly after 6pm local time during a "potluck", a community meal in which everyone brings a plate.
The attacker, whose identity was not disclosed, entered the church alone and started shooting , hitting three people in all .
"It is shocking. We are receiving messages from all over the country", the words of Reverend Kelley Hudlow of the diocese of Alabama.
