Two people were killed and five injured in a shooting at a Virginia high school graduation ceremony .

The shooting occurred outside a Richmond theater where students were celebrating graduation .

The victims are an 18-year-old boy and a 36-year-old man . Of the five injured, one is in critical condition.

The perpetrator would be a nineteen year old : initially fled, was immediately arrested and is now accused of murder.

The young man knew at least one of the victims . Numerous pistols recovered at the crime scene.

With more firearms than population, the United States has the highest rate of gun deaths of any developed country: 49,000 in 2021, up from 45,000 a year earlier.
