New demonstrations in Russia against what the Kremlin calls a "special operation" in Ukraine and new arrests by the police.

According to the website of OVD-Info, a non-governmental organization specializing in human rights and monitoring of demonstrations, almost 300 people were arrested during the latest anti-war protests organized in Moscow and other major cities of the Russian Federation.

In the last few hours AFP journalists have witnessed the arrest of several demonstrators both in the capital and in St. Petersburg, the second city of the country, and from the images you can see the policemen intervening with force against the demonstrators.

Also according to the data collected by OVD-Info, since the beginning of the invasion - last February 24 - almost 15 thousand people have been arrested during demonstrations of dissent against the Kremlin and there are currently 10 courts engaged in various cities in proceedings "political" penalties to punish the participants.
