The M5S group leader in the Constitutional Affairs Committee, Alfonso Colucci, announced that today he presented a complaint to the Court of Auditors, "signed by many colleagues of the M5S, to ascertain hypotheses of financial responsibility for the transport of 16 migrants to the center set up by the Meloni Government in Albania".

"In particular - adds Colucci - we ask whether it is possible to configure the adoption of measures with malice or gross negligence capable of configuring a treasury liability for the use of large public resources for the performance of activities not legitimized on the basis of the correct application of the law".

"The voyage of the military ship Lybra transported 16 migrants to Albania, at a cost ranging between 250 and 290 thousand euros, and for the first 3 months of operation of the ship alone, which will shuttle between the international waters south of Lampedusa and the Albanian port of Shengjin, financial costs amounting to 13.5 million euros were quantified", continues Colucci. Adding: As is known, the 16 migrants transported to Albania were all brought back to Italy, despite the screening already carried out, as they did not meet the requirements for detention delocalized in the designated centers. I would add that many law enforcement officers are already present in Albania and many others will be transferred there. To keep them there, the Government is sustaining a very high expense, in stark contrast to the situation on the national territory, which sees an increase in predatory crime and real and perceived insecurity, which registers a serious lack of staff and garrisons, exasperation for too much overtime, a contract expired for over a thousand days. The complaint - concludes Colucci - is a dutiful act, the Meloni government cannot ask for sacrifices from Italian families and businesses and then throw so much public money into the sea in this way".
