The two black boxes of the passenger plane and the military helicopter that collided in the skies of Washington (67 victims of the disaster) have been found.

The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the small airliner were recovered by investigators from the icy waters of the Potomac River.

The two black boxes are now being examined by the American Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), charged with establishing the origins of this plane crash with no survivors: the most serious in the United States in over 20 years.

NTSB officials have so far stressed that they do not currently have "sufficient evidence" to establish or exclude causes, saying they plan to publish a preliminary report "within 30 days."

Meanwhile, while President Donald Trump claims that the accident "could have been avoided" and points the finger at the inclusion policies of his predecessors Obama and Biden that would have allowed the hiring of "physically and mentally disabled" people in the transport sector, the US has also received a message of condolence from Russia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed her "sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to all Americans" for the plane crash in Washington, which killed 67 people, including several Russian citizens, skating champions Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov.
