The association therefore extends " special thanks" to the "Neurosurgery Department of the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital Clinic, which cared for Alessandro during these very difficult days. Sincere thanks go to the Italian authorities, the Farnesina Crisis Unit, and, in particular, Ambassador Simona De Martino, who followed and managed every phase of this delicate moment for Alessandro and his family with great care and sensitivity. We would also like to thank the Cuban authorities for their attention and support throughout this entire process."

According to Corriere sources, Di Battista has already begun speaking on Tuesday, September 8, showing progress described as "excellent" by doctors, and could return to Italy on Friday, September 11.
