Paris is snowed in, with blocked roads and transport disruptions.
The capital is covered in snow, with few cars on the roadAfter yesterday's break, snow has resumed falling across much of France, particularly in the Ile-de-France region, the Paris region.
The capital is completely white this morning, with very few cars on the road, and no buses, not even in the suburbs. Several state roads are closed, and those that are open are clogged with endless lines of cars. It's also snowing in Normandy and Brittany, while freezing rain is reported in the center.
Forecasts point to an improvement today. Virtually all modes of transportation are experiencing disruption, starting with airplanes, with around a hundred flights canceled this morning at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, Paris's main airport, and around forty at Orly, the second.
Speed limits on roads have been limited to 70 km/h everywhere, school buses are at a standstill, and traffic jams in the Ile-de-France region are estimated to be over 600 km long this morning. The RATP, the Parisian transport authority, has urged everyone to limit their travel, favoring teleworking where possible.
