In Paris the international conference entitled "Solidarity with Ukraine".

The meeting was opened by French President Emmanuel Macron , who in his speech stated that the goal is to achieve "very concrete results to allow the Ukrainian population to resist during the winter".

Macron also announced that France has pledged aid to Ukraine for 125 million euros, but overall Kiev's "friendly" countries have raised over one billion euros, a figure well above the 800 million euros requested by the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The aid - explained Macron - "will cover the sectors of access to energy and electricity, access to water, food aid, health and transport infrastructures, civil security and demining actions". The aid will, in particular, make it possible to send 63 new high-power electric generators in the very short term».

«Most of our plants are damaged by Russian bombing. Every day our engineers have to disconnect millions of Ukrainians from the electricity grid", Zelensky said instead, confirming that the aid will be used precisely to guarantee electricity and gas for the population.

"We will do everything possible - concluded Zelensky - to face the blackout and energy terror".

And Italy too "is ready to do its part to help the Ukrainian population". Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani reiterated this, explaining: «It's not just a military question. We have sent dozens and dozens of tons of electrical material, transformers, switches, to allow Ukraine to have a functioning electricity grid during the winter and also to favor the heating of the civilian population".

Giorgia Meloni also spoke of Ukraine, speaking in the Chamber in view of the next European Council.

The government's commitment – said the premier – is “a commitment to the Ukrainian cause which we have fully supported from the outset, in line with the efforts of the EU, NATO and the nations close to us. The government reiterates its full support for Kiev in all these dimensions. Whoever, in some respects understandably, would like to turn away, like it or not, the conflict in Ukraine concerns us all - added the Prime Minister - for this reason we will continue to commit ourselves with conviction and open face to every diplomatic effort useful for the cessation of Russian aggression".
