Outside the home, at night, at -10 degrees: a 2-year-old child freezes to death

Tragedy in Austria, where a two-year-old child froze to death after several hours spent at 10 degrees below zero, in front of his parents' house.

The shocking news comes from the Urfahr-Umgebung district, in Upper Austria.

According to what has been learned - the police have confirmed what had happened, but have not released many details - a couple had decided to spend the evening at dinner with the neighbors and had left the child in his cot, thinking they would be able to check him through the baby monitor.

The child, however, during the couple's absence, woke up, got up and went to look for mom and dad, somehow managing to get out of the front door.

And outside, in the open, he remained until the first light of dawn, when his parents, only upon their return, found him on the threshold, now in hypothermia, lifeless.

Then the alarm went off, but the rescuers could not do anything to save his life.
