Over 4 thousand flights have been canceled worldwide between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day due to the pandemic, in particular due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.

Disruption for tens of thousands of passengers. According to the specialized site Flightware, more than a quarter of cancellations are in the United States, between domestic and international connections.

Several companies have had to deal with the isolation for positivity to the virus of the crew or of the operations on the ground.

The most affected are Delta, United Airlines and American Airlines. Australia was also very affected, with over 100 connections with Sydney and Melbourne missing.
