"Israel adopts the plan of President Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire during the month of Ramadan and Passover. We are in full coordination with President Donald Trump and his team. According to Israel's information, Hamas is currently holding 59 hostages: up to 24 alive and at least 35 dead. We will not abandon any of them, and we are determined to bring them all home."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared this.
"US Secretary of State Steve Witkoff has described his proposal as a corridor for negotiations on phase two. Israel is ready for this," he added at the start of the cabinet meeting.
