The US is increasing pressure on Russia over the death of researcher Daria Shipilova at a Siberian laboratory studying pneumonic plague and subsequent quarantine measures.
In an official statement, known as a démarche, the State Department urged Moscow to fulfill its international health reporting obligations , warning that its failure to disclose details about the death of a researcher violates international health obligations.
The Wall Street Journal reports this, based on what US officials said, according to which Moscow has provided little information on the mysterious episode.
