Netanyahu convenes a security cabinet meeting on Gaza: "It should approve the occupation of the Strip."
The opposition takes the opposite view: "We will pay too high a price; the people of Israel are not interested in this war."

Gaza and the future of the conflict will be discussed tomorrow , when Prime Minister Netanyahu convenes his Security Cabinet in his office in Jerusalem . The meeting, confirmed to The Times of Israel by his staff, is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. GMT).
“The cabinet is expected to approve the full military occupation of the Strip at its meeting tomorrow,” the Times of Israel reports, despite the IDF chief of staff and other army generals warning of the risks of the operation.
Concerns also arise from the opposition, with leader Yair Lapid declaring, after meeting with the prime minister, that "I told Prime Minister Netanyahu that occupying Gaza is a terrible idea . You can't undertake such an action without the support of the majority of the population. The people of Israel are not interested in this war. We will pay too high a price."
