After the case of the first 16 migrants transported to the “Italian” centers in Albania, then immediately brought back to Italy after the judges of the Rome court stopped them , the Meloni Government is trying again.
The Navy's "Libra", an 80-meter patrol boat, will arrive on Friday in the port of Shengjin, where one of the centers created under the agreement between Rome and Tirana is set up. This time there will be 8 migrants on board.
All this, however, while judges continue to reject the detention of asylum seekers, despite the decree passed by the government that has redefined by law the list of safe countries.
The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, is considering new appeals and is not giving up: «We are simply anticipating a European regulation that asks us for 8,000 places for the detention/reception of migrants».
But the opposition attacks. "Not satisfied with the failure demonstrated by the deportation to Albania of 16 people picked up last month in the middle of the sea, taken to the CPR of Gjader and then promptly brought back to Italy after the failure to validate the detention by the court of Rome, the government is making yet another attempt in open contradiction with European legislation ", comments the PD deputy Rachele Scarpa .
"We are faced with a political propaganda operation that squanders public money. A journey that costs a good 36 thousand euros per migrant ", says Angelo Bonelli (Avs).
