Russia has dropped a "super bomb" in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine.

The report comes from the Defense Express website. The weapon in question would be the 1.5-ton UPAB-1500B , designed to hit highly protected targets at a range of up to 40 km thanks to its 1,010 kg of high explosive.

The news was confirmed by the Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat : «It is true, this information is not new. The Russians can use missiles from a distance, as they have been doing since the spring, but they can also use guided aerial bombs,” Ihnat said.

Ihnat himself urged Western states to supply Kiev with military fighters. “Why do we need F-16s or other aircraft? To deal with this threat as well, to protect our cities and our villages", he stressed, as the current Ukrainian Soviet aircraft "cannot do it".
