"Based on the highly provocative statements of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines in the appropriate regions, in case these senseless and provocative statements prove more than that."
US President Donald Trump said this, commenting on statements by the former leader of Moscow, who claimed on Telegram that "Russia is right about everything" and warned Trump with these words: "Remember your favorite zombie movies and also how dangerous the legendary 'dead hand' can be." A reference to a secret Soviet-era semi-automatic system capable of launching nuclear missiles if Moscow's leadership were eliminated in an enemy attack.
Trump's reply was not long in coming: "Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences , I hope this is not one of those cases," wrote Washington's number one on his social media platform Truth.
