Ukrainian forces launched a drone strike on Moscow overnight, Tass reported, saying Russia shot down 337 drones in several areas, including 91 in the Moscow region. Temporary flight restrictions at Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports were imposed for security reasons.

“Emergency services specialists are working on the site where the debris fell,” Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram.

This is the most significant attack on Russian territory since the start of the Russian offensive launched in February 2022 against Ukraine. The attacks mainly affected the Moscow region and the Kursk region, on the border with Ukraine. At least two people were killed.

The attack, Kiev said, is aimed at "incentivising" Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept the air truce, which is the proposal that Kiev will advance today in talks with the American delegation in Saudi Arabia.

In Jeddah, a meeting was held between US Secretary of State Marc Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and the Ukrainian delegation, represented by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

Meanwhile in Brussels, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen attacks Putin : "He has proven to be a hostile neighbor, you can't trust him, you can only dissuade him. We know that the Russian military complex is surpassing ours. Production in Europe is still on an order of magnitude lower. And beyond traditional capabilities, the range of threats we have to face is widening day by day."
