The man arrested yesterday in Paris on charges of having been part of the commando responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the journalist killed in the Saudi embassy in Istanbul in 2018, "has no connection" with the affair. This was stated by the embassy of Saudi Arabia in France which asked for his immediate release. The killers, added the diplomatic source, have already been tried in Arabia and are "serving" their sentences there.

The "offending" operation took place at the airport where a 33-year-old was stopped as he was about to board a flight to Riyadh.
