Kabul, attack in the mosque: at least 12 dead, over 30 injured

At least 12 people died and 32 others were injured in an attack on the Kabul mosque.

A strong explosion occurred in the Id Gah mosque, the second in the Afghan capital, while the funeral of the mother of the recently deceased Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid was celebrated inside.

Three people according to Al Jazeera were arrested in connection with the attack.

The episode also took place on the day the Taliban celebrated the "day of victory" a stone's throw from Kabul. A rally that took shape in the village of Kohdaman, on the outskirts of the capital, with over 1,500 supporters and numerous high-level executives.

"This is the day we've been waiting for," said Khalil Haqqani, minister of the new government and wanted in the US with a $ 5 million bounty.
