Dominic Taddeo, a 64-year-old of Italian-American origin convicted of killing three people and attempting to kill two more, has escaped from a medium-security prison in Florida.

The man, according to the Guardian, is the hitman of a Mafia family residing in the Rochester area. In 1992 he pleaded guilty to both organized crime charges and crimes during the 1980s mafia war.

He had obtained a medical appointment, with prescribed authorization, but did not return to the detention facility and is now wanted. Previously, a federal judge had rejected his request for release from covid complications for his health problems.
