Israel is preparing a large-scale security operation to intercept the flotilla heading towards its shores . According to Channel 12, the vessel is expected to arrive on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, coinciding with Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, traditionally dedicated to fasting and prayer.

The plan, approved by Police Chief Dany Levi, calls for a joint intervention by the Navy and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which will detain the participants in international waters and transfer them to the port of Ashdod. From there, the passengers will be escorted by police and prison service vehicles to Ketziot Prison, where they will be taken into custody .

To allow the operation to be performed even during the holy day, special rabbinical authorization was granted.

Once Yom Kippur concludes, participants will be expelled to their countries of origin. Those who refuse will be subject to expedited proceedings before a special court of the Ministry of the Interior, charged with illegal entry into Israel. Regular trials will not be held.

The operation will involve approximately 600 officers from border units and special forces. The national health system has also been activated to support the operation, with the deployment of three intensive care ambulances and five regular ambulances. Four hospitals have been placed on alert: Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, and Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Be'er Yaakov.
