New Israeli attacks in Lebanon despite the truce signed between the United States and Iran . The IDF's raids targeted the capital Beirut and its southern suburb, Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold . The initial toll stands at over 300 dead and wounded , as the head of the Lebanese Red Cross told Middle Eastern media. Many people are trapped under rubble, while hospitals in the area are under severe pressure. The Lebanese ministry also reports dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries.

Israel's large-scale airstrikes against Hezbollah across Lebanon saw 50 fighter jets drop approximately 160 bombs on 100 targets in just 10 minutes , the Israeli military said, according to the Times of Israel. The wave of attacks has been dubbed "Eternal Darkness" internally. The IDF said it bombed approximately 100 Hezbollah command centers and other military infrastructure in Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.

Iran's reaction was immediate . Ali Bahreini, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, said that Israel must respect the ceasefire in Lebanon and that any further attack "would complicate the situation and have consequences."
