An almost secret burial: few people, a lot of silence and a lot of haste in completing the function. This is the last farewell to Mohsen Shekari , the 23-year-old arrested during anti-government demonstrations in Iran and hanged yesterday, who was armored up by the police . Strict conditions imposed on the family on how to conduct the funeral ceremony. A man still managed, despite the checks, to leave a message on the young man's grave : "Keep fighting and don't get tired, resist and keep your head up".

Tehran has received new international sanctions for its conduct: from Great Britain to Canada, in particular against senior officials and magistrates of the judicial and penitentiary system. The EU is also due to launch measures against Iran on Monday, together with the ninth package against Russia.

After Shekari's hanging - the first known of those issued for arrested protesters - a large number of people gathered in Sattarkhan Street in Tehran, where the boy lived. The forces of order attempted to disperse the crowd with batons, tear gas, shooting at cars . Among the protesters' slogans: "Down with the dictator" and "So many of us have been killed, no compromise or praise for the leader." Shooting from close range also continued on women, who were hit in the face, eyes, breasts and genitals . This was reported to the Guardian by Iranian doctors from various cities of the country who treat the wounded in secret to avoid arrest: they say they are now traumatized by the bodies they see arriving.

The niece of the Supreme Guide Ali Khamenei, Farideh Muradkhani, also passed before the special court of the Clergy, sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment: the sentence was then reduced to three years thanks to an appeal presented by her lawyer. A human rights activist, she was arrested in late November after asking "freedom-loving" countries to expel Iranian ambassadors , thus expressing support for the ongoing protests.
