The center-right opposition has won the legislative elections in Greenland, now more than ever at the center of world attention due to the ambitions of Donald Trump, who would like to annex the Danish island to the United States.

The Greenlandic public broadcaster Knr reported. The vote was marked by a wave of nationalism demanding that the Arctic island quickly achieve independence. The vote rewarded the Democratic Party, a "social-liberal" formation, with over 30% of the votes.

The nationalists of Naleraq also did well with 23%. Finally, the parties of the outgoing government did sharply decline: the left-wing environmentalists of Inuit Ataqatigiit are at 21% (-15% compared to 2021) and the social democrats of Siumut are at 15% (-14%).
