Ten dead, thirty wounded. This is the toll of the dramatic fire that broke out overnight in a hotel-casino in Poipet, Cambodia, in the area bordering Thailand.

The flames attacked the Grand Diamond City Hotel and Casino and would have started from the first floor to spread quickly upwards due to the carpet with which the floors of the building are covered.

The wounded were rescued and taken to hospital, while there was nothing they could do for 10 people.

In recent months, several fires have broken out in nightclubs and very often due to the main safety regulations not being respected. Last August, a fire at a nightclub near Pattaya, Thailand claimed 26 lives, mostly young people attending a party.
