In the space of 48 hours, two African-American models were found dead in Los Angeles. One was killed, the other may have been the victim of a violent crime.

The families of the young women fear a serial killer on the loose, combining elements common to the two events.

On September 10, relatives of Nichole “Nikki” Coats discovered her body. The girl hadn't responded to their messages for two days. A death declared "suspicious", while the coroner's response is awaited. 48 hours later, in a luxury condominium less than three miles away, Malisa Mooney was found murdered. Also in this case it was the cell phone messages, or rather their absence for an entire week, that had alarmed the family.

“There's a predator out there,” said “Nikki's” aunt, May Stevens, who discovered her body, although so far only Malisa's death has been ruled a homicide. In the last message “Nikki” said she was going out on a date. «I want answers, I want to know why my daughter died. He had no enemies,” said his mother, Sharon Coats.

«He had one leg raised in the air as if he was kicking something. This is not how you go to bed and die. I am convinced that she was killed", reiterated the aunt.

Malesa was 31 years old, she was a model, but she made ends meet as a real estate agent and only a month ago she moved into the house where she was killed. Alerted by her family, on September 12 the police broke into the Bunker Hill apartment and found her lifeless, it is not clear when.
