Explosion in a Shiite mosque in Kandahar: "At least 37 dead and dozens injured"

An explosion occurred in a Shiite mosque in Kandahar in Afghanistan, the cradle of the Taliban, as witnessed by some journalists present on the spot.

It happened this morning in the city center and during Friday prayers, the day of maximum concentration of the faithful during the week.

The toll of the violent explosion would be 37 dead and at least 70 injured.

The explosion was allegedly caused by two suicide bombers.

About 500 faithful who would have been present in the area at the time of the attack.
