China has decided to sanitize correspondence from abroad in an attempt to limit Covid infections.

The postal authority of the People's Republic has in fact issued an order to guarantee the disinfection of envelopes, packages and parcels arriving from foreign countries, also providing greater ventilation of the mail storage rooms and also more frequent tampons on workers in the sector.

At the basis of the decision the fact that the only case of Omicron detected in the capital Beijing would derive from a document from Canada, on which strains of the variant similar to those of North America and Singapore were found.

From what has been learned, the variant was detected on the outer packaging and on the inner surface of the envelope.

Hence the decision to carry out a massive disinfection of all incoming mail from abroad and to adopt more stringent measures in warehouses and postal hubs.
