The administration of the fourth dose against Covid-19 in Israel could start as early as Sunday 26 December, if the director general of the health ministry Nachman Ash approves the advice from the team of experts in the fight against the pandemic.

The country's televisions report this, recalling that the health insurance funds have already been warned of the need to inject the dose to over 60s, immunosuppressed people and health workers.

According to Minister Nitzan Horowitz, consultations on the matter are still ongoing with experts in Great Britain and the USA.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has already announced that Israelis over the age of 60 and doctors will be eligible for a fourth vaccination against Covid, following a recommendation from a panel of experts. "The citizens of Israel were the first in the world to receive the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and we are continuing to pioneer the fourth dose as well," he said in a comment released by his office.
