First birthday as a king for Charles .

The King of England celebrates 74 years today , 73 of which he spent waiting to sit on the throne.
He will not make public celebrations, out of respect for his mother who passed away just two months ago.

But there were also two traditional appointments : the song "Happy Birthday" performed by the band of the Household Cavalry during the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and the "gun salute", the 41 cannon salvos exploded in Green Park and another 62 at the Tower of London.

Yesterday Charles III had led his first "Remembrance Sunday" as king, laying a wreath in tribute to the war dead of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

It is not yet known whether he will decide to celebrate his birthday on two separate dates, as per another royal tradition: Queen Elizabeth, for example, had a birthday on April 21 but the official celebrations fell in June.

Meanwhile , Carlo tries to make himself loved by giving all his employees a gift : he has given the lowest paid royal staff a £ 600 bonus to deal with the rising cost of living, amidst record inflation and high bills.

According to the Sun this money comes directly from the king's private income .
