The activity of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, which for 15 days has been devastating the island of La Palma in the Canaries, does not subside and rather intensifies and becomes more and more aggressive.

The main crater continues to erupt a gigantic fountain of lava and columns of incandescent gas and ash up to 6,000 meters above sea level, while two new magma vents have opened in the last hours a few tens of meters from each other on one side of the volcanic cone, flowing into the great river of molten rock that continues to pour into the Atlantic Ocean.

The volcano's lava has already buried about 400 hectares of land and destroyed nearly a thousand buildings, the Spanish Department of National Security and the European Copernicus system said.

The surface subtracted by the lava from the sea has reached the coast is already almost 30 hectares.

Yesterday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced new aid of around 200 million euros to contribute to the "reconstruction" of La Palma.
