Burst resignation in the Johnson government. But he doesn't give up: "No early elections"
Ministers and Tory bigwigs dump BoJo. The latest is Michael Gove: "At this point the premier must leave"The government of Great Britain is falling apart. Literally.
Ministers and bigwigs of the Conservative party are in fact resigning in bursts , progressively making a scorched earth around Prime Minister Boris Johnson , overwhelmed by scandals and controversies and escaped unscathed, but crippled by the last vote of confidence .
The last to quit BoJo was Michael Gove , head of the strategic Portfolios of Leveling Territorial Inequalities and a companion of the current premier in the 2016 pro Brexit referendum campaign.
Gove said today that he believes " Johnson must resign at this point."
But the premier, at least for the moment, is trying to hold on, denying the prospect of early political elections : "I don't think anyone wants them at this time" of global crisis, he said. "I believe instead - he added - that we must move forward, serve the voters and address the priorities that are important to them".
