Once again, North Korea sent around 600 balloons full of trash across the border to South Korea.
“North Korea has resumed launching waste balloons towards the South,” the chiefs of staff of Seoul's armed forces said in a statement.
It is surprising - as in the case of last Tuesday - that hundreds of homemade "hot air balloons" managed to cross the border without problems, arriving in almost the entire country, including the capital Seoul, from Gyeonggi province to those of Chuncheong and Gyeongsang of the North.
As in previous cases, waste such as cigarette butts, waste paper, cloth, vinyl and manure (also of human origin) were found inside the balloons, but no harmful substances were found.
The South Korean military is working with police, local governments, the Ministry of Security and the US-led UN Command to reduce
to a minimum the inconvenience of the population.
