Austria revokes the lockdown for non-vaccinated people in force for a few weeks. Chancellor Karl Nehammer announced this in a short note. "The top priority is to limit the restrictions as much as possible. The lockdown for the unvaccinated is one of the most restrictive measures. The situation in the hospitals allows us to end it," writes Nehammer.

The lockdown, initially introduced in mid-November, was subsequently extended to all due to an unsustainable health situation, with infections on the rise and hospitals under pressure.

Since December 13, the government has lifted the lockdown for vaccinated people, leaving it in force for no vax only. Now, with the situation improving in hospitals, the revocation for everyone arrives, starting on Monday. And from February 1st, the vaccination obligation starts , which provides for fines of up to 3,600 euros.
