An explosion occurred last night at a Jewish school in Amsterdam's Buitenveldert district, Mayor Femke Halsema reported, citing the Dutch news agency ANP.

Halsema spoke of a deliberate “act of aggression” against the school, adding that the damage caused by the explosion “was limited.”

Police are analyzing surveillance footage that appears to show the individual suspected of detonating the device.

"There must be no place for anti-Semitism in the Netherlands," Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten commented on X. "I understand the anger and fear and will soon engage in dialogue with the Jewish community. They must always feel safe in our country," he added.

Justice Minister David van Weel also addressed the incident, recalling the fire set twenty-four hours earlier at a synagogue in Rotterdam. " For two consecutive nights, a cowardly attack with an explosive device has targeted a Jewish building: first in Rotterdam, now in Amsterdam . Thanks to security measures and increased surveillance, much more serious damage was prevented," he emphasized.
